Silver Studies
In-Vitro Studies:
Demonstrating the Superiority of WoundForce™
pH Studies
WoundForce™ maintains its effectiveness across a wider pH range than Santyl
Purpose: compare the performance of WoundForce to Santyl in varying pH environments.
Procedure: study effects of WoundForce and Santyl on denatured proteins in differing pH solutions ranging from pH 5 to pH 9.
Results: WoundForce is not affected by pH and in all cases is 2x more active than Santyl® in vitro.
Silver Studies
WoundForce™ is compatible with
silver-based dressings, unlike Santyl
Purpose: confirm that WoundForce is not adversely affected by silver, which would lead to contraindication.
Procedure: study effects of WoundForce when used in combination with Acticoat 7 (silver-coated antimicrobial dressing).
Results: no evidence of silver interfering with WoundForce’s ability to dissolve protein.
In-Vitro and Animal Studies:
WoundForce™ vs. Santyl
For both soft and hard eschar, WoundForce™ starts debridement earlier
than Santyl and works more efficiently once debridement begins.
